If you missed it in the comments, here’s a little creepiness from schools in British Columbia:
When [parent] Kansas Field Allen heard about the posters, she was shocked. She asked her son to take photos of them so she could post about it on social media and get feedback from her peers. “I’d say 95 per cent of the people are in favour of having the posters taken down, and that’s from all races,” Field Allen said.

The project was never communicated to parents.
And so parents only discovered the campaign – which asserts that white pupils are complicit in an “invisible system of privilege” – when their children began complaining about it. And note too that, despite Ms Downs’ theatrical confession that she, like all pale-skinned beings, has “unfairly benefited” from her “white privilege,” albeit in ways that aren’t made clear, she hasn’t seen fit to resign from her presumably unearned position as Superintendent of Schools.
Regarding an unearned sense of entitlement, it occurs to me that the people with grading leverage, official status and other institutional backup, including access to taxpayers’ earnings, and who presume to be the unilateral arbiters of “privilege” – resulting in campaigns of racial shaming aimed at other people’s children and without parents’ knowledge or consent – these creatures might also have some “privilege” worthy of scrutiny.
But maybe that’s just me.

I’m often impressed with the graciousness of people who have to deal with the public. Me, I’d probably end up pushing customers down elevator shafts within days. I’m going to try to be more like service personnel. (Note, I said “Try,” so it’s in your best interest not to annoy me near an open elevator shaft.)
Ms Down’s total compensation for that period was $163,340.
Money well spent, clearly. Because who wouldn’t want their child to be subjected to a campaign of neurotic racial shaming? For instance, this boy here, featured on the school district’s website:
I’m sure his life will be greatly improved by internalising a belief that his accomplishments are merely the result of preferential treatment, and that he is somehow disadvantaging and oppressing people, daily, simply by virtue of being pale-skinned and therefore suspect. And the fact that he was raised in a culture that had moved beyond tattooing and ‘spirit’ dancing as forms of medical care is obviously his fault.
Incidentally, it seems that Mrs Field Allen, who objected to the “white privilege” campaign, is now being accused of raising “white racist children.”

I’ve noticed this in Australia: the people who make a point of “acknowledging the traditional owners of the land” never go so far as to actually give the land back. Canadian land has “traditional owners” too, so I expect it happens there as well. Ms Downs probably participates.
I hear a new questionnaire is being circulated to all white parents:

We should note that it’s rare to see a science teacher or a math teacher or a physics teacher pushing SJW themes on their students.
But most of the people who go into the teaching of the soft subjects – social studies, history, english, etc. – are people who have self-selected their way into the most influential role on the next generation they could find. If we compose a ratio of [difficulty of entry into a field] to [amount of social influence in the position], teaching ranks very high.
I had three kids all go through the suburban SJW-oriented school experience, and am proud that I turned out to be that prototypical pain-in-the-ass parent in the minds of so many SJW teachers. (“No, you cannot teach that whites are the devil, and if you persist we’ll discuss it at the next school board meeting!”) I saw that a significant proportion of the teachers – not half, maybe a third – weren’t like that. They really only wanted to properly teach their subjects. The fanaticism of their SJW co-workers kept them from objecting to the excesses.
But the school administrators – every one, from the superintendent down to the secretaries – were shrill, judgmental SJWs.

At one time I’d have thought this couldn’t happen over here in Britland, but now we know better.
It’s also worth pondering the fact that the less an organisation can be counted on to perform its core functions, the more likely it is to overreach into other areas. And so city councils that fail to maintain roads and basic infrastructure will tend to grow vast, seemingly infinite “diversity” departments; and police forces that seem impotent and negligent in the face of thuggery and rape gangs will nonetheless find time and resources to chastise people for being rude on Twitter, or to classify whistling as a “hate crime,” or to have their male officers parade around in nail polish.
I think it’s safe to say that the world of education has not been untouched by this phenomenon.

Well, setting aside the clown-shoe comedy on campuses, I know of a couple of primary schools where, according to parents, basic spelling skills are imparted only intermittently, but the contents of the children’s lunchboxes are policed with great enthusiasm, with stern letters issued if unauthorised sandwich fillings are found.

And yet we are challenged by a commenter who insists that few teachers are radical leftists bent on indoctrination. The evidence, however, indicates that this sort of pernicious garbage is widespread and almost entirely unchallenged by that “silent majority” of sane, moderate educators. To borrow a yellowed-with age page from the liberal playbook, those moderates should prove it by actually opposing the left. But they won’t because they don’t.

The end result of the Caledonia uprising was the government buying the disputed land from the developer, moving the residents off of it, and giving it to the violent insurgents who had been occupying it for years.
So we’re ahead of Australia in that respect.

Bollocks. The science teacher I mentioned earlier also once gave her class an exercise in biology where they roleplayed different groups of people deciding what to do with a wetland. Different coloured randomly drawn cards represented different groups – biologists, local residents, environmental activists, etc. The two red cards represented evil corporations who wanted to destroy the wetland. No reason was given to the children for why the corporations might want to do this. For the lulz, apparently.
I’ve seen a published middle school science workbook that includes an exercise where the students are directed to build a tabletop greenhouse, and then initiate a vinegar and baking soda reaction inside the greenhouse to produce CO2, and then measure the temperature inside the greenhouse to prove that CO2 causes warming in the atmosphere. Completely aside from the model being wrong, vinegar and baking soda is an endothermic reaction: the temperature inside the greenhouse will go down.
So not only do science teachers absolutely push this crap, they can’t even do it competently.

Didn’t people possessing ‘whiteness’ sort of, you know, create and build the U.S? If so, how can ‘whiteness’ and the people who carry it, be the cause of its downfall?
“Privilege” does not exist ex nihilo. It had to start somewhere with some people. I have no problem with others admitting to the world that my ancestors were more apt, more intelligent, more able, more sophisticated, and much more likely to come out on the winning side of any conflict with their ancestors. If they want to take it back 50 years, 500 years or 5,000 years I am up for that. The better team apparently won the privilege game and took home the trophy. The 2nd place team took home — well — 2nd place.
If they say the game was rigged, then my ancestors were smarter than theirs and figured out how to rig the game and theirs didn’t. If they say my ancestors were more savage than theirs then that means theirs were weaker than mine. If they say there were more of mine, then that means that mine were simply better at understanding how to use the environment and technology to sustain a greater population. If they say that my ancestors were better geographically situated that means that they were better realtors, able to find and hold superior territory. If they say my ancestors had bigger, badder, and more destructive weapons that means than their ancestors were probably stuck in a stone-age existence for 10,000 years past their time.
No matter how you slice it… they are making the claim for me that their ancestors could not quite hack it when it came to competition for the “privilege” of being on top. They were weaker, ineffective, and overall a fine example of Darwinism in action. Seems to me as if they are pointing the “finger of blame” at the wrong set of ancestors. I’d suggest they have a heartfelt talk with their grandma and grandpa and ask them why ~their~ grandmas and grandpas were so pitiful in the game of life.
Now understand that ~this~ is how ~they~ see the world. This is what ~they~ are admitting happened. Unless, of course, they want to somehow claim that “privilege” just happened along one day from out of nowhere and someone picked it up off the ground and has been using it ever since. Should be an interesting and amusing read.
Because they believe that since what they call “privilege” was obtained either unfairly or by simple luck they have a “moral right” to take it.
If they want to admit to having inferior ancestors who were not good enough to not be taken advantage of, or just plain unlucky that is fine with me. And it doesn’t say much for their current ability to “take” anything away from me. Bring it on and we’ll see how the rematch goes.

The looter is one who believes that possessing a thing is equal to possessing the virtues that allowed its creation; that a symbol of some quality is that quality itself, in some way, and so by thieving the symbol you can posses that quality.
This ends, of course, in empty, hopeless misery, when the looter exhausts their supply of the lootable, and is left dealing with consequences of a hollow existence – one lived entirely reliant upon the crutch of symbols, face, and counterfeit dignity.
They deserve it. The real tragedy is all the other people they take to hell with them.
