A Gathering Of The Pious
Lifted from the comments because… well, just watch:
The video begins with [filmmaker, Ami] Horowitz interviewing a number of white people at a so-called “White Privilege Conference” in Kansas City, Missouri, and asking them if they believe that every white person is a beneficiary of “white privilege.” The white leftists say yes, with one lady saying that she feels “super guilty all the time.” In fact, a number of the white leftists Horowitz interviewed claimed that all whites in America are racist. Then Horowitz asked the same people if it was “wrong to judge people collectively.” They all answered yes, seemingly unaware of the obvious contradiction.
Mr Horowitz then visits a Harlem housing project to ask black residents their thoughts on the subject.

Fame!
Fame!
Use it wisely, madam.
One of the highlights is the interview with a young white woman attending the conference, presumably a student, who insists that “white privilege” is both real and ubiquitous, and that she’s “hyper-aware” its effect “every day,” and feels “super guilty all the time.” But when asked, she struggles to think of any example, any example at all, of how she benefits from it.
She then says, “Sorry, I’m not good at thinking.”
I wanna cringe forever…
Your betters.
”She then says, “Sorry, I’m not good at thinking.”..”
Are any students, these days?
Always remember, these are the people in charge of our childrens education. Which is why we have so much of this:
Professor called “racist” by a student mob for objecting to a day without white people on campus.
I’m sometimes chided for discussing the ‘progressive’ campus left in terms of dysfunction and pathology. But look at the fruit it bears.
Mr Horowitz then visits a Harlem housing project to ask black residents their thoughts on the subject.
Nonsense. White lefties will tell black people what they really think.
Caucasians leftists prattling on about “white privilege” is their guilt-free way of believing that black people are simply Untermenschen. Sure, they can slap a patina of benevolence on their own racism but ultimately it’s the same thing. It’s Kipling’s “The White Man’s Burden” written for the 21st Century.
Nonsense. White lefties will tell black people what they really think.
False consciousness, obviously.
Hillary!! There is not one day that goes by, not one, when I do not feel thankful that Hillary was NOT (and never will be) elected POTUS. Not one day. Just the short clip of her was like fingernails on the blackboard to me.
And to R Sherman: Your observation is dead on right.
David, your screen grab absolutely fits the liberal lefty hipster con man. I mean the color coordinated earrings and necklace, the beard with it’s distinguished white streaks, the long hair …… an aging asshat who’s thinking about which of these young white chicks he’s going baffle with his deep wisdom…. and sleep with tonight. I’ve seen it all before.
I mean the color coordinated earrings and necklace,
It’s practically an amulet.
Hi everybody,
Are you familiar with everydayfeminism dot com? It’s great. David could probably get enough material for the rest of his life from that site.
Enjoy!
Are you familiar with everydayfeminism dot com?
Ahem.
Hey is Pogonip stealth marketing for everyday feminism now that they’re out of funds?

Busted!
Out of funds, my ass. Nuttiness NEVER runs out of funds.
For the longest time I thought Everyday Feminism was parody by a Swiftian genius.
Looks like David wrote his Everyday Feminism article right before I discovered him. Well, genius can’t wait. 😊
R. Sherman. Absolutely.
White people need to really shut the f**k up. Which is why they’ve all gone to a conference to loudly and repeatedly shut the f**k up. Then they’ll go home and shut the f**k up some more. Then tell everyone else they know to shut the f**k up.
Marvellous.
I always get the impression that such white people have never even talked to a black person. Or another white person. Or an Asian person. Or a left-handed Burmese lesbian worm farmer. Maybe if they’d shut the fvck up and listen…
Also, why do they think that potty-mouth = moral superiority? That does not compute.
Also, why do they think that potty-mouth = moral superiority?

As a snapshot of a worldview, or a glorified pretension, it is, I think, quite revealing.
And speaking of Laurie and her associates. “OMG. You guys are brilliant.”
So they are occupying prisons now? You know, in any conflict fate offers you a limited number of great opportunities. Can we not waste this one?
Invite them to an asylum next if WTP’s idea doesn’t work.
I have a question about Great Britain. Is it true that there is an all Muslim town (Birmingham?) in England? Over here across the pond, Dearborn, Michigan, isn’t ALL Muslim, but probably will be in 30-40 years if demographic trends continue unchanged.
Is it true that there is an all Muslim town (Birmingham?) in England?
Um, no.
Well, that lets out Birmingham. Thanks!
Well, that lets out Birmingham.
For the time being. A couple of years ago (proviso: from memory, I haven’t looked it up) the percentage of school pupils of Pakistani heritage alone reached 38%, overtaking White British as the largest ethnic group. Factoring in the other Muslim groups (Bangladeshi, Somali, various Arabs) it is clear that my home town will be overwhelmingly Mohammedan within my lifetime.
PS: And Birmingham isn’t a ‘town’. It’s the UK’s second city.
If these white leftists feel so terribly guilty, they should resign from their jobs and give away all their property. I would be happy to facilitate this.

Naturally, Laurie Penny agrees.
This is hilarious:
Feminists in New York decide to hold a ‘Women Only’ screening of the new Wonder Woman film. A guy called Stephen Miller bought a ticket online and announced on Twitter that he was going to attend. Feminists go mental berating him…the only trouble is that NY laws don’t allow places of public entertainment, including cinemas, to exclude people because of gender or sexuality. Hoist by their own petard?

To ignore race is to be more racist than to acknowledge race. I call it neo-racism.
The constant relocation of the “racism goalposts” is the surest acknowledgement that the battle against real racism has, in fact, been won. Now, the former victims of real racial animus are forced to compete on a level playing field, if not one which is tilted in their favor. Thus, that the Grievance Industrial Complex now carps on “micro-aggressions,” “white privilege,” diversity and the like, especially in places where Progressivism is the state religion, is merely a means to maintain power and/or cushy sinecures without merit or real achievement.
Anyone else notice that, in the Horowitz video, the black residents interviewed were all real grown-ups?
The women-only screenings were mentioned on CNN, but the guy who bought the ticket wasn’t. I wonder if he was admitted?
In American English, “woman” has 3 possible meanings: “adult female person,” “feminist,” or “lesbian.” I think the screenings used the word in meaning 2 or 3.
The ticket reads Thursday, June 8, so we have almost two weeks for lawyers, journalists, etc. to get their stories together, create reighteous drama, and prep the troops for whatever plays out as being a victory, pyrrhic or otherwise.
On Universities “God … it’s just pathetic.”
On Universities “God … it’s just pathetic.”
“We’re against the ruling class.”
“No, you’re baby ruling class members.”

It occurred to me that the Harlem interviewees would probably make for better company at a barbecue, and that this wasn’t an entirely trivial point.
“No, you’re baby ruling class members”
As much as I’m inclined to go along with that guy and agree with much of what he said, I gave up at that point in the 6 minutes. More tiresome speech from arrogant types who put more value into talking than doing. He taught at Harvard for five years was it? He helped create this mess. Way too many people coming out of these damned elite institutions believe in changing the world by telling others what to do instead of showing other how to do it.
@WTP
Like you, I can agree with many of his points, i.e. the “corruption” of the humanities, but there are certain things which are troubling. (Disclosure: I didn’t listen to his entire talk, but merely the six minute excerpt.) The emphasis on “articulation” seems to value form over substance. It’s verges on elevating sophistry over true wisdom. Second, I bristle at the idea that (the platonic ideal of) the university, especially those like Harvard, are the only places where one can obtain this wisdom and/or “power,” to use his term. In truth, history is replete with individuals who obtained such wisdom without the benefit of formal education. To use the current, trendy term, they benefited from “lived experience.”
On Universities “God … it’s just pathetic.”
Related, regarding my alma mater. The insidious thing is that they’re raising tuition at the stand-alone campuses, specifically the dedicated STEM university in Rolla, MO which has seen a dramatic increase in enrollment subsequent to the BLM fiasco in Columbia, to prop up/subsidize the main campus.
He taught at Harvard for five years was it? He helped create this mess
If he was Cassandra then, as he is now, why should he be blamed?

That wasn’t my take away. He had just spoken about the huge opportunity given to such students – 4 years of freedom to choose to be educated – to Read.Great.Books.
No where did I see an implication that people who don’t go to university can’t/won’t/are barred from Reading.Great.Books.
My late paternal grandfather had a passion for history. He was my go-to source to flesh out the bare-bones lessons I received in high school.
Yet, his formal education ended after the 8th grade.
BTW here’s the whole video, which I’m currently listening to.
Excellent section starting about 19:20 to 29:00 dealing both with fake university departments AND anti-science-based demands of gender activists being encoded into law.
Oh, frabjous day, calloo, callay! It’s nearly the end of May. I just checked, and Everyday Feminism is still with us. Off to learn why trans women have menstrual cramps even though they have no uteri.
It’s because the trans women are gobbling female hormones like they were M & M’s and thus any little pain is magnified, and that is a known possible side effect of female hormones; I noticed it when Martial Arts class fell during my ovulations. (Statistically, the MA’s are safer than golf, but you do get a few bumps here and there.). I imagine that with guys who are pretending they’re girls, much of the pain is psychomatic, as well.
I was disappointed; that article wasn’t up to E.F.’s normal standards of humor. Maybe they’ll get back to normal once they get their hands on the full $50K. As of today, they say they are nearly up to $23K.
As of today, they say they are nearly up to $23K.
I think our host is secretly bankrolling them.
