Friday Ephemera
Small actions, repeated often. // Giant crop circle jellyfish. // Enormous actual jellyfish. Up to 200 kg. // Animals of Africa. (h/t, Coudal) // Unfortunate unicorn tattoos. (h/t, Anna) // 10 striking movies. // Take the quake quiz. Are you ready to rumble? // Meat, fish and bugs, all canned for tasty freshness. // Lego candles. // Made with light. (h/t, Dr Westerhaus) // Low altitude pass of lunar surface. // Nebula panorama. // Saddam’s palaces. // In B flat. // Height and happiness. // Tunnel networks of note. // Atlas Obscura. Modern wonders. // The Heinz Beanzawave. // And, via The Thin Man, it’s the ghoulish stylings of Hayseed Dixie.
The animal photography is incredible.
There’s a book of Brandt’s photography…

my favorite Hayseed cover is their version of “Fat Bottomed Girls”, but all the youtube versions have terrible audio. See also: “She Was Skinny When I Met Her” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yOw1cxTNgw
Hearing ‘Monster Mash’ made my morning.
The photography is just stunning, and all the more so for being in monochrome.
Sadly, having seen the tinnned meat page, I’ve now quite lost my appetite for lunch!
You weren’t enticed by canned crocodile, silk worm pupae or beef tripe “with milk”? How about Sweet Sue’s Canned Whole Chicken, complete with its generous helping of jelly?

You’re sure?
The Canned Whole Chicken just reminded me of that scene with the chestburster in ‘Alien’!
I like the chicken luncheon meat. “Reliable forever.”
Smoked rattlesnake sounds good. And you can’t go wrong with canned fish balls.
The can of “beef dish” is intriguingly non-specific…

And isn’t mystery what we all look for in a meal?
I loved the canned mystery meats. Especially this:
“Pure Texas Armadillo, sun-dried and road tenderized”.
That’s got to be a joke novelty item.
