I may be wrong, but if memory serves it’s implied in the comic. At least I don’t think it would be at odds with either the character or the fictional universe.

Thanks. The teleporting looks fun (though not for poor Laurie). Though they’re still using what looks like CG test footage for the tank deconstruction. I guess the nerdlings are still buffing that particular scene.

I just can’t stop thinking about all the background bits that foreshadowed the Squid. The missing artists and writers. The story about the stolen brain of the psychic guy, the inter-dimensional research business….ok, that’s all I can think of at the moment, but removing all that will weaken the story IMO. I really hope it doesn’t do too much damage to it all, but what else would require such a complicated conspiracy on Adrian’s part? He’s pretty darn rich and powerful and above suspicion, so I don’t see him needing to go to such lengths to frame Dr. Manhattan and silence witnesses as he did in the comic book if he’s just planning on planting a nuke or something, and nuclear terrorism probably won’t achieve the goal that the Squid was intended to bring about, namely uniting mankind in the face of a non-human, existential threat.
I’m very wary of this movie:-(.

The intricate set-up of the “squid” always struck me as much better than the actual pay-off, which doesn’t entirely convince. And I suppose the sudden arrival of giant calamari is one of those things that jars when translated from comic to film. (It’s pretty outlandish even in the comic. In a live-action film I suspect it would be too outlandish to have the desired dramatic effect, even given a world in which Nixon is still president and Dr Manhattan exists.) Whether Snyder’s revisions will work remains to be seen, but it’s not too hard to see why he felt it necessary to change the particular device used to “save the world”.

It is, as is his role in the ‘suicide’ of Woodward and Bernstein.
This film is either going to be a masterpiece or a disaster. In any case, I will watch it.
