I used to snorkel with cuttle-fish a lot in the Persian Gulf.
One day after watching a parade of courting cuttles, I came to the conclusion that, were it not for their squishy, viscous bodies and alien appearances, their intelligence and gregariousness should put them on a par with cetaceans in our popular culture.
Move over Flipper and Willie, and let “Squiddie the Squid’ and “Cutie the Cuttlefish” take over!
