Our cross-dressing chap, whose name is not disclosed, fled some unspecified oppression in Mr Trump’s America and sought asylum in the Netherlands. As one does.
And so, our cross-dressing man now finds himself in the country’s primary asylum reception centre, sited in the village of Ter Apel, and where his fellow seekers of asylum – chiefly, Muhammadan gentlemen from Morocco and Algeria – are an actual danger, not an imagined one.
“There’s a bunch [of migrants] who think that queer people should be beaten,” says he. “It is too dangerous to walk from here to the grocery store because of the people who live in the camp.”
Sufficiently so, it seems, for the Red Cross and other aid agencies to have withdrawn from the encampment due to the violence, arson, numerous stabbings, and so forth.

My God! That’s even more comically tiny than the pissant little Isetta that I used to see parked in the local university when I was a very wee lad.

How was he being oppressed in the US?
Alas, we’re not told. And a basis for invoking persecution, sufficient to warrant fleeing overseas and seeking asylum, is not obvious to me. But it’s one of those things that we’re expected to nod along to, as if it were obviously true, due to its endless repetition.
If you live in a state where cross-dressing boys are no longer allowed to cheat in girls’ sports, risking injury to other players, that’s not a compelling basis for claims of oppression. Ditto not being allowed to perv on the occupants of women’s toilets and changing rooms, or to forcibly involve them in your sad psychodrama.

If you’re claiming to be oppressed by the fact that transvestites and people with sexual dysmorphia aren’t welcomed for active-service roles in the military, on grounds that such phenomena tend to go hand-in-hand with other, very serious psychological comorbidities, thereby posing a danger to everyone around you, then weeping seems unlikely.
Likewise, the restrictions in some states on a person’s ability to legally falsify their identity, on passports, birth certificates, etc., often in ways that impede law enforcement, and which could be used to compel others to participate in a lie, do not in my mind constitute persecution.
Some states have, belatedly, restricted taxpayer-funded access to cross-sex hormones, so-called “puberty blockers” – bone-weakening chemical castration drugs – and supposedly “gender affirming” surgery for minors. But if your claim hangs on some imagined freedom to drug and mutilate children, then, well, fuck you, sunshine.

Also, some really mean people won’t call him ma’am, some states are passing laws against children transitioning, and there are people who openly object to the trans agenda.
MEAN people, I tell you.
Well, it’s interesting how “trans rights” are invoked loudly and often, as a collective idea, a bundle, but specifics – what those rights might be – are generally less clearly expressed, if expressed at all. There’s a certain coyness about the particulars.
Presumably, on grounds that, when expressed in straightforward terms and free of question-begging, conflicts with other rights tend to become apparent, and sympathy might be thinner on the ground.

While watching this feat of diverse culture, it occurred to me that roughly 42% of the lyrical content is the words bitches and nigga.
I mean, if you could somehow subtract those two words, there’d be a lot of asthmatic gasping and not much else.

I’ve not been tempted by anything I’ve seen or heard and, as stated recently, I can’t think of a Christopher Nolan film I’ve wanted to see twice. They just don’t work for me. I find them lacking in character(s) and emotionally unengaging.
One of the criticisms I saw – possibly at Film Threat, can’t recall – was about the decision to have the characters speak in ‘modern’ conversational dialogue, which apparently works against any suspension of disbelief. I suspect it’s not unlike Star Trek, which requires a certain kind of formal, non-casual dialogue.
If you subtract the word f—, there’d be nothing but a wheezy stress test of the infrastructure.

Added: The basic problem with the normies of the GOP, especially the GOPe, is that they don’t like to be bothered by minor details, silly culture wars, etc. They are SERIOUS PEOPLE. Just ask them. They believe that if you just throw money at the problem, it will go away. Most charities are powered by this conceit.
