When Two People Argue
The results can be… revealing:

You see, caring about your family, your ancestors, your lineage, your children, is “actually absurd,” apparently. And by implication, some kinds of context – where you came from, say – are to be scorned as worthless.
An earlier, related exchange comes to mind:
One more time:
I’m guessing that’s some kind of progressive metaphysics.
One commenter, a “pansexual she/her,” insists that civilisations are built by “stealing and oppressing other people.” Other, more edifying variables are not deemed interesting. I’m guessing that our “pansexual she/her,” the one who doesn’t think that lineage and genetic continuity play a role of any importance, isn’t herself a parent. And therefore hasn’t had the strange pleasure of seeing her children develop the features and attributes of various relatives. A sister, an uncle, a grandfather.
Though I doubt mere obliviousness would fully explain this phenomenon. There’s an element of contrivance, of affectation and perversity.
Mr Convente is currently invoking victimhood – because people have read his pronouncements and have either laughed or pointed out why those pronouncements are unconvincing. Mr Convente is also calling Mr Burkett various vulgar terms and is insinuating some nefarious racial motive, despite offering no actual evidence to that effect.
Because if you pause to consider the physical basis of family, even in measured terms, and if you point out the logical idiocy of the “It’s only by chance you were born to said ancestors” school of thought, seemingly favoured by so many progressives, then this can only be explained by some seething racial animus. Apparently.
Mr Convente also declares, with some pride, “I don’t want kids.” Being, as he puts it, “too selfish.”
Our Betters, ladies and gentlemen. See their pieties shine.
Lifted from the comments, which you’re reading, of course.

Also via Julia, there is this observation:
I first encountered that bullshit back in grade school the mid 60’s, when some black classmates confidently asserted that Beethoven and Cleopatra were black. The absurd falsehoods bothered me a little but I didn’t think much about it until the late 80’s when the lies proliferated and infected academia. Remember Mary Lefkowitz’s debunking book Not Out of Africa?
Note how, when someone objects to such dishonest rewriting of history, someone will always show up to scold them for politicizing art. As if the afrocentrists were not politicizing history when they steal the cultural heritage of other people. Are the Greeks not entitled to their own history? And by extension all Westerners who derive so much of their culture from Classical Greece?

Kinda. I understand your point but I would still suggest that their “eugenics” is more about cost savings and eliminating just the white people. Lysenkoism is more aligned with the communists and eugenics is more fascist. Which fits in with the scope of those two forms of socialism. Communism being an international socialism based on nurture, forcing people to behave a certain way, and fascism being more national/race/genetics or nature oriented. Look at how they market the abortion issue. It’s never directly about aborting black, brown, or yellow babies, at least in the west. Here they push it as a white woman issue. And they certainly never bring it up with the muzzies whom they believe they can ultimately control to do their bidding. They need those kinds of people.
Thinking more about this, there was a story last week about an IED being discovered at the base of a dam in IIRC Mississippi or Alabama. I wonder if they were waiting for this anniversary to use this story as a sort of “both sides” thing. Granted, Muldoon’s pic are Brit aviators but the US, notably Joseph Kennedy, Jr., also participated in similar attacks. Maybe it’s a stretch but who knows. I’ve been right a couple of times in the past.
…so I’ve continued contributing to the previous (Ephemera) post.
I meant to thank you for doing the research on the gynandromorph – I could not remember what it was, only that it was. I’ll pop over there and see if any thing you contributed can wipe that image of Mr. Sophie Molllie in a ball gag and clothespins from my unwitting eyeballs. Sheesh David – must you do that so early?
I feel obliged to provide the necessary… context.

It’s always a pleasure to be able to share useful or enjoyable information.
How about the pretty butterfly named after Iryna Zarutska?

@Dam Busters raid
The bomb had to be placed on the side of the dam where the water was because it was the powerful vibrations from the explosion which caused the dam to fail. A missile or bomb hitting the other side would have the force of its explosion dissipate into the air.
In fact, one of the bombs overshot, hitting the top of the dam, and exploded, causing no damage to the structure, but destroying the plane which dropped it (M for Mother, iirc).
Who Killed Homer? The leftist professors.

“journalist” in need of a beating.
Suboptimal for the engineer, freight train collides with SST.
It’s the fact that the absurd question is asked with a seeming obliviousness. As if it were not only an obvious question to ask, and not at all contrived or bizarre, but also sufficiently pressing to open with it. Which would make the journalist foolish.
Unless, of course, the question is calculated and posed as bait, for some already drafted hit piece in which the words whiteness and racism are deployed many times. In which case, the journalist is an arsehole.
Either way, a corrective beating with chair legs does seem in order.

Clean Slate Theory. New Soviet Man. If genetics plays a role you can’t be reprogrammed into a good International Socialist, so genetics must not play a role.
That’s not so hard, I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 Skyhopper back home. They’re not much more than a meter.
Derwent Dam, the location used for the 617 Squadron practice runs, is about 20 minutes away.
Heh. Gold star. Geeks get it. Careful using it with a mixed crowd tho…btw, it’s “two meters”. No worries tho, I was pretty sure he mentioned Beggar’s Canyon there but I was wrong. Again. That makes twice in a week. Sigh…

From a longer clip, it looks like the journalist might have been a wrongthinker, or at least an incautious rightthinker, and that Mikkelsen either knew that already or guessed. Mikkelsen says something along the lines of this is risky territory and I want you to take the risk instead of me, forcing the journalist to expand on the idea that Nordic casts in Nordic films don’t meet diversity requirements while Korean casts in Korean films do. Mikkelsen still pretends not to understand, even though the fact that he identified it immediately as a risky question makes that hard to believe. And then Mikkelsen’s colleague, immediately after saying the film is set in 18th century Denmark, says by the way we did still shove an African in there.
I don’t know what it is but it’s not against the law. Did Trigglypuff lose some weight?
You mean the Blank Slate Theory.
The Clean Slate Theory says that a depraved felon, upon release from prison, is just like you and me. 😀

Guess you can’t even trust Google’s basic maps anymore.
How I first stumbled upon it. I confirmed that on “maps.google.com” the Palisades is now back to pre-fire satellite imagery and that on Google Earth, pre-fire is default but if you go into “historical” images then you can see the scorched community image taken in September 2025.
Asking “why” of Google’s AI comes up with this excuse:
Which begs the question of WHY NOT? Most people who use the map are doing it for navigational purposes and I sure would like to know if the market or restaurant showing up on PCH in the Palisades is actually there.
Also, this “oh, the disaster is over, so the “algorithm” reverts to pre-disaster” doesn’t hold water when Lahaina, Maui still shows burned areas now 3 years AFTER the disaster.
Funny how this map change was noted by some about the time of the first (and only) televised debate for Los Angeles mayor (which included upstart challenger Spencer Pratt who lost his home in the fire).
Shocked face.
The excuses are infuriating and pathetic. But it looks like, at least from what I am seeing right now, the Pacific Palisades area is back to post-fire/current look.
This, “oh gee whatever do you mean, I don’t understand” bullshit really grates on me. I have been trying to get answers from local school board candidates regarding a very simple question. The runaround is infuriating. One has resorted to blocking me. Another turned off comments for everyone.
“We are legion.”
I never did figure out the context of her meltdown.
Are you located on the West coast? I lived in SoCal until 2023 and am now in southwest WA and the satellite image on google maps is STILL pre-fire. Now, if I drop to street view I can see devastation in some areas, like the burned out lots along the beachside of PCH (that will probably NEVER be rebuilt by their owners), but move out to satellite view and voila, intact homes.

I just snipped this off my laptop (same image shows on my phone)
LOL, Frank Lloyd Wright division.
The modern image is fake…. I copied both into Photoshop and layered them … exact same image. The trees being the same in the background tipped me off.
If we were a sane society, this monster would already be in prison for life, with shattered knees and elbows and ribs and facial bones.
Interesting. No, I’m in GA. I wondered/suspicious that it would have been corrected so soon. It truly is outrageous how they play games like this, though I’m sure there’s a “totally logical and innocent explanation”. Because Hanlon’s Razor and stuff. Makes you wonder what else is being manipulated based on locale. Which of course it is not because Hanlon’s Razor…
That link shows about 3 seconds of video before interrupting with 10 seconds of ad, then 3 seconds of video, and so on.
Made another attempt at NY Post, but that place is just a video game with news copy buried under pop-up ads.
What I did see was overlaid with three semi-transparent ads for jewels.
Oh well.
I did see in one account that “the train failed to stop in time.” Had to be a Millennial.
Am I seeing right that it was filmed at the end of November? That’s a sad time to film landscapes.
This google maps thing has me up now…curious if Darleen’s view is still the happy-happy, pre-fire view or what anyone else in or out of southern California, or even from outside the US sees. The relevant intersection in Pacific Palisades (ooh, I’m learing how to spell ‘palisades’!) is Marquez Ave. and Ida Street.
I noticed that BS as well. I somehow stumbled into seeing the whole clip after the third attempt and maintaining the discipline not to touch anything. But when I tried to watch it a second time, well…I just gave up.
I suppose that if you get a good day, weather-wise, as above, there will be fewer people about and a less obstructed view. And a different atmosphere.
The Other Half went through a phase of getting up at dawn and venturing out to take photos, both in the Peak District and around the nearby shops. It’s quite odd, seeing – in glorious, early morning sunlight – what is usually a busy street – entirely devoid of people, cars, and so forth. As if they’d somehow been subtracted.
