When Your Colleagues Have Joined A Cult
Maths teacher Paul Rossi shares his experience of “anti-racism training” at a Manhattan high school, during which he questioned the alleged imperative to foreground each student’s racial identity, and questioned the value of racialising human attributes – including the claim that “objectivity” is somehow a characteristic of “white supremacy”:
When my questions were shared outside this forum [a mandatory, racially segregated Zoom meeting], violating the school norm of confidentiality, I was informed by the head of the high school that my philosophical challenges had caused “harm” to students, given that these topics were “life and death matters, about people’s flesh and blood and bone.” I was reprimanded… He further informed me that I had created “dissonance for vulnerable and unformed thinkers” and “neurological disturbance in students’ beings and systems.” The school’s director of studies added that my remarks could even constitute harassment.
And then the strange became stranger, one might say sinister.
Update:
Very much related. Or, Knowing That It’s Creepy And Immoral, And Harmful To Children, And Doing It Anyway.
We’ve been here before, of course, on more than one occasion.
@WTP:
Well, Civil War II wouldn’t play out the same as Civil War I no matter what. (For one thing, those places which had had large amounts of manufacturing ability the first time don’t so much of that any more.)
I’ll point out as wel that the extended guerrilla warfare that would happen during/after Civil War II was explicitly rejected at the end of Civil War I when Robert E. Lee told his army to accept (what was to him) God’s judgement on the loss. In fairness to him, decades long killing of Union soldiers in the south wouldn’t bring back the Confederacy nor leave Virginia as a state in a republic versus its current state as a province in an empire.
(For those who want to bring up the KKK, even Nathan Bedford Forrest changed his mind about that group. I went to most of my school years in Pulaski, TN, as a point of information.)
I’d suggest a read of ISBN 1-57249-323-2 “With Blood & Fire: Life behind Union Lines in Middle Tennessee, 1863-65” to get an idea around how that worked out prior to the experiences of the Franco-Prussian war, WW1, WW2, and damned near every conflict after that. Those of you in Blighty already know how the troubles worked.
Well, Civil War II wouldn’t play out the same as Civil War I no matter what.
Well, that’s only a sliver of my point. It wouldn’t play out like post-WWII Germany/Japan neither. But even less so Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Cliche about generals fighting the last war aside…Not only is the tech significantly more advanced but the willingness of existing establishment to use it against Americans is far greater than against a truly foreign enemy. With far less risk to loss of life. If they can train a tranny to essentially play a video game while sitting in its mother’s basement, a video “game” that controls Boston Dynamics robots to fight an, as you say, a technologically relatively unsophisticated insurgency, and they have billions and billions to build as many robots as they like, then that insurgency is screwed.
Granted this is some degree of exaggerated hyperventilating…perhaps. Not saying I’m 100% right on this in the near term, nor even 40%, but it’s doable at some level to some degree. And all the macho talk that I see from even ex-military types pretends as if the fight will be like an Afghanistan style insurgency. That is even more highly unlikely.
Well, said tranny’s gotta eat. Said tranny’s gotta have electricity to run the link. It doesn’t take a lot to make electricity, food, or water not arrive in a city (which is where I assume said tranny would live).
To be honest, there isn’t a political structure that exists (or has existed) without the implicit acceptance of the civilian population within that structure. It’s a pyramid. The entire “preference cascade” thing revolves around people realizing that their dislike of the people currently in charge is shared by quite a few of their fellow citizens.
If you ever wondered why twitter, facebook, and/or whatever is censoring people, I would suggest reading up on what happened in Romania in the late 1980s. It doesn’t take that much for people to realize that they have a illegitimate government over them and to take the actions required to make said government change.
True. But Romania (& etc.) was on the downside of that suffering which had gone on for generations. By the 80’s they had burned through what little ruin that they had to start with. There’s a lot more ruin in this nation, not to mention a lot more people quite comfortable and content to defend the status quo even as said status quo quickly changes beneath their feet. Because the media and everyone else they hear from, friends, academics, even churches, tell them the conflagration they are staring right into is “mostly peaceful”. We have much, much more ruin to burn through before the reality hits.
War tranny will eat and war tranny will get its electricity just like the weak, pathetic losers who supported Mao and Kim and etc. did. Sam Colt only made men equal who could afford one. Then Mr. Gatling came along and started the process all over again raising the ante. Well, in general that is.
