My entire condiment worldview has been shattered.
Trump often wields salt and pepper shakers almost twice the size of everyone else’s.
Surely this will be the final nail in the coffin of his so-called presidency. First he had the temerity to defeat Clinton, and now this. What a monster.
This whole damned system is corrupt! You need proper fresh cracked pepper. Only a monster uses a pepper ‘shaker’.

I can’t recall when a political door-knocker has come calling. Of course, I’m usually only home weekends and evenings. Usually I get stuff in the mail, and when I had a landline, phone calls.
One benefit to being the only gringa in a neighborhood where everyone else speaks spanish only, is that the door knockers are instantly repelled when I answer in english. Usually I just ask through the door “Who’s there?”, but one day I could have sworn they said “UPS” when they knocked, so I opened the door, to the horror of the two well-dressed men standing there. I’ve never seen two proselytizers beat feet so fast from my door.

When I was younger and had the time for the BS, I used this tactic frequently. Especially with phone solicitors. If I sensed they were the type to talk and talk and talk, I’d get them going, then if I got bored with it I’d set the phone down and walk away.
